Different Strokes for Different Folks: A History of the Toothbrush

    PRO Double Duty toothbrush

    As the Florence Manufacturing Company continued to improve its products, early 1960s advertisements for their PRO Double Duty toothbrush described a handle permeated with a “pleasant mint-fresh fragrance” and claimed that the addition of fluoride had dramatically improved bristle tone and texture. The toothbrush sold for 89¢.
